Hospital Volunteers: Support Brighton Through Volunteer Work
Volunteering is a wonderful way to support the addiction recovery process. At Brighton Center for Recovery, we have many individuals who donate their time to volunteer and help our patients that are in drug and alcohol addiction recovery. Our hospital volunteer work program focuses on giving back to families and patients who have lost so much due to the pain and stress that drug and alcohol addiction causes. Volunteers generously contribute their time to make Brighton Center for Recovery a center of hope, healing and strength. They help motivate our patients every day and offer encouragement throughout the course of their stay at Brighton Center for Recovery. We appreciate each and every one of our volunteers and know that they are a significant part of new beginnings for many families.
Brighton Center for Recovery Volunteer Examples:
- Assisting patients with locating Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings
- Volunteering in the Brighton Center for Recovery Gift Shop
- Volunteering in the main office with collating, copying and data entry
- Greeting friends and family members on visiting days
- Helping to provide patients and families with information during the admission process
- Assisting with seasonal gardening
- Helping with special events
- Joining our Speakers Bureau
Hospital volunteering schedules are flexible and you can commit to as little as one day per month.
“Having been a former patient, I wanted to be able to give back. Having the opportunity to volunteer here in the Gift Shop has given me the chance to do that. I have been clean for a year now and volunteering here has been a huge part of my recovery. Being able to help other patients, tell them my story and show patients that you can stay clean and sober is a reward in itself” says Amanda Sagert, who is part of Brighton’s Volunteer Re-Entry Program. This systemic progressive volunteer work builds trust, belief and empowerment into the lives of participants and fosters community commitment and individual responsibility within the hospital volunteers program.
