Addiction Treatment Programs

Detoxification

Detoxification is a necessary first step in the substance abuse treatment program at Brighton Center for Recovery. Detoxification (detox) is a process in which a patient’s body is safely withdrawn from the substance to which it is addicted. When a person uses drugs or alcohol for a period of time, toxins build up in the body. These toxins can cause a range of health issues and even death.  Detox frees the body of these toxins and is an integral step in the recovery process. Brighton Center for Recovery has a first rate, medical detoxification unit. Patients are withdrawn using the latest techniques and medicines and are closely monitored to ensure as little discomfort as possible during the detox process.

Many patients are fearful of the detoxification process. This is a very understandable fear as emotional stress is always a possibility during this time. The level of withdrawal that a patient might face can range from minor to severe depending on the patient. However, our expert staff closely monitors each patient to watch for these withdrawal symptoms and treats them accordingly. Our addiction detoxification offers specialized drug counseling and therapy to help diminish the emotional symptoms of withdrawal. Patients also receive round the clock nursing care in a comfortable and nurturing environment.
